“The American Soldier”
A warrior, like none other You lay down your life, for others Even those different, from your mother You live a life of imminent danger This, you do, to protect total strangers
You even risk harm, for foreigners You're kind, to brokenhearted, sojourners What more can anyone ask? Even God, must be pleased, with such tasks
You stand guard at the gate In your hands, lie a whole nation’s, fate Oh, how my heart weeps for you, I won't be right, till, you're all through
God bless you American soldier I'm praying for you, like I told ya May God, make his face to shine upon you And from me, to you, much honor, is due
