The future of our children is a powerful reason to serve our veterans today. Our future is more secure because of the service of brave men and women serving in the armed services today, and I ask you to support us as we become communities that serve veterans

I am happy to report that on August 6, 2008, we received the approved IRS determination letter for the SWVBRC. The letter came sooner than expected! I founded the Center on May 21, 2008 in honor of Memorial Day and on June 10, 2008 I submitted the IRS narrative for our tax exemption. The narrative included details of the program, like stipend awards for eligible participants successfully completing levels in the 14 Level Reintegration program. The IRS takes a close look at the program details in an application for exemption.

I now reach out to you for your support to fund the program. We want to empower you and your communities to sponsor the 14 Level Reintegration program by donating as little as $12.50 for every hour an eligible participant logs in learning hours. For each $12.50 donation, $5 goes directly to the stipend each participant logs. The remaining balance goes to cover expenses like materials, computers and the facility. Your contributions in any amount are crucial to fulfilling our mission of communities serving veterans, because they represent the communities' involvement in this project.

Where Communities Serve Veterans

Honoring our Fallen Heroes

For many of us, our commitment to serve veterans stems from the memory of loved ones we've lost, and the constant reminder of those who came home only to be forgotten. There are many programs out there to help veterans transition into civilian society, take advantage of the benefits they've earned, and stay off the streets. But unfortunately many veterans today are still in need of help. With your support we can make a difference and build a stronger bridge between our veterans and our communities, so that veterans can enjoy the freedoms they fought for and communities can play a crucial role in this process. By supporting veterans today we honor our fallen heroes, and honor our veterans' service to the nation.
As the SWVBRC grows we will be looking for volunteers and for new ideas on how to better serve our veterans. Your support will be crucial to the growth of the Center and to fulfilling our mission of communities serving veterans. If your community wants to play a larger role in the growth of the Center we are happy to work with you! We hope to grow in every community that wants to support a center for its veterans.

We have been very lucky to secure a location in Fallbrook, California and the Center will open its doors on November 1, 2008 in honor of Veterans Day! We would love for you to join us for the grand opening! The Center will be a place where communities comes together to serve veterans and the grand opening will be a celebration of this partnership!

Congressman Bob Filner, chairman of the House Veterans' Affairs Committee, and other community leaders will be in attendance and we hope to see you at our opening day celebration! The Center is located at 145 E. Fig Street, Fallbrook, CA 92028. More details on our grand opening will be forthcoming, so save the date: November 1, 2008.
